The secret is the agent.
Finding that perfect new home wasn’t as easy as we
thought it would be. Luckily, we had a great agent who helped us out quite a bit and often went out of his way for us. We were afraid at the beginning of this adventure that real estate agents in general wouldn’t take us seriously as we’re first time buyers. But surprisingly enough, our agent, Yves, was great.
All those complicated decisions, all those little details to consider (the notary, the inspection, the taxes, old vs new, etc…), are very stressful for first time buyers and the one important suggestion I can give you is to find an agent that ‘gets you’. Not just a hot shot youngster who’s out to make cash but rather an experienced agent that knows the right things and who isn’t going to say ‘yes, take it’ too quickly.
